    Today, Nov 15th, we will be closing the Art Center at 3:30. We are closing due to the weather and for the safety of everyone. This being said all classes today will be canceled. We will tack on a class to this session to make up for today.  Also, don't forget that there will be no classes next week, Nov 20 -24, because of Thanksgiving.

    The Preble County Art Association (PCAA) is excited to announce Art's Night Out!  Join in the celebrations at the Visual Art Center, Friday, November 16 from 6pm-10pm.   This edition of the ongoing Art's Night Out series will feature live music from Noah Back, and a live artist demo from renowned designer, Yetunde Rodriguez.  Kid’s will have an opportunity to get their picture taken with Santa himself from 6pm-8pm.  Enjoy the opening and shop for gifts at the Holiday Artist Market.  

    Visitors are invited to purchase delicious eats from Funky Fusion food truck and a selection of craft beer from Dayton Beer Company.  Partake in professionally led art activities and create a flow painting for $15 or make personalized metal bottle openers and jewelry with metal stamping for $5-$12.  Paint pottery in our Clay Café with no sitting fees for the whole evening. 

    Visitors can browse the gallery and shop for unique holiday gifts at the annual Holiday Artist Market.  11 talented local artists have been hand selected to display and sell their works.  Shoppers can expect jewelry, ceramics, textiles, and more!  Pick out a meaningful gift for your loved ones and something fun for you! 

    Art's Night Out is an interactive experience designed to combine entertainment and education of the arts.  This program is generously supported by LCNB.  Art's Night Out is an important event that brings together community members, supports local businesses, and promotes the arts.

    Keep your little ones creative this Summer!

    PCAA is offering Summer Camps throughout June with a different theme every week.

    Pre K Camp 

    Little Art Explorers 

    June 4- June 8 


    Preschoolers will explore the world of art by creating projects that are perfect for little ones.  Campers will paint, collage, play with clay and more.  This camp is all about encouraging creativity in our littlest campers!

    Clay Days

    Campers will be exploring the world of clay this week.  This camp will teach new building techniques, textures, and experiment with glazing methods.  Kids will come away from this camp with fun clay artworks! 


    Every Day's a Holiday! 

    June 11- June 15 


    This week campers will celebrate all the holidays in one week! Each day will have art projects inspired by a different holiday.  We'll make spooky ghosts for Halloween, heart mugs for Valentine's Day and more.  Participants will do a lot of celebrating all week long! 

    Playing with Pottery 

    June 11-June 15 


    What's more fun than getting your hands dirty and building with clay? How about a whole week of it! Campers will hand build, sculpt, and glaze different pottery projects all week long. 


    Color Creations 

    June 18- June 22  


    This camp is all about colors!  Kids will explore fun and exciting ways to get colorful and create vibrant masterpieces.  We're thinking beyond markers and crayons with everything from paint filled water balloons to tie dye t-shirts. 



    June 18- June 22 


    Join in this unique camp and create your very own movie from start to finish! Campers will make characters out of clay and learn to animate and film a short movie.  The finished product will have its world premiere at this Summer's Arts Night Out! 


    Usable Art 

    June 25- June 29 


    Art doesn't have to belong on a wall. This camp is all about creating artistic masterpieces that can be used!  Campers will channel their creativity to make art projects that can be used every day!  


    Under the Sea 

    June 25- June 29 


    Campers will explore the deep blue sea through art in this week's camp.  Participants will have an ocean adventure, using paint, clay, and other creative materials to make their favorite sea creatures. 


    Teen Camp 

    Future Artists 

    July 9- July 13  



    This camp is geared just for teens.  This is a chance for young artists to perfect their drawing skills, learn new mediums and new techniques from the pros!  They will be making a variety of fun projects including painting, ceramics, and drawing!

    Do you provide snacks? We break for snacks during each session.  The art center provides snacks.  If your child has an allergy please provide a snack for them each day. 

    Do you provide lunch?   We do not provide lunch during the lunch hour.  Please provide a nutritious lunch for your child if they are here all day or for lunch bunch. 

    What should my child wearArt is messy! Please send them in clothing and shoes that are appropriate. 

    Can my teen volunteer? Yes! We would love to have teen volunteers in each of our camps.  Ask us how to apply! We do have one camp especially for this group of kids too. 

    Great Bang for Your Buck!  All day camp, 6 hours of art plus a lunch hour, breaks down to less than $5/hr for a member price and less than $6/hr for a non member price.  This includes instruction by a team of highly qualified professional artists and teachers, all art materials, and several high quality and unique art projects completed each week!  

    Cancelation Policy 

    No refunds can be given within 72 hours of the start of camp.

    Art Camps for Spring Break  

    The Preble County Art Association is offering art camps April 2- April 6, 9am-4pm at the Visual Art Center. With school out for Spring Break, it's a perfect time to have fun and get creative at the art center! Parents can sign up kids ages 5-12 for one day or all five. The cost is $30 per day member $38 per day for a nonmember. Anyone is eligible to purchase a PCAA membership. Students in 7th grade or higher may apply to volunteer as camp assistants. Doors will open at 8:30 each morning for drop off convenience but kids may want to bring an activity to occupy themselves until the 9 o’clock start time. PCAA will provide both a morning and afternoon snack but campers will need to bring their own lunch 


    Camp themes are as follows: 

    Monday, April 2:  PLAY AND CLAY 

    Campers are going to get playful with all things clay! Kids will use their imagination to build and experiment with clay all day long!    

    Tuesday, April 3:  THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 

    Pets will be our muse for camp today!  Campers will create masterpieces from paint, collage, and mixed media all about the animals we love.  There will even be real live pet interactions at the art center to serve as inspiration!    

    Wednesday, April 4: WILD FOR ART 

    Camp is about to get wild! The great outdoors and wild animals will be the inspiration for today's camp. Kids will get their hands dirty, creating collages and exploring new artistic techniques in this nature inspired camp!   

    Thursday, April 5: CREATE AND COOK 

    Who says you can't play with your food?  This camp is all about making art you can eat and creating fun sculptures and paintings inspired by our favorite snacks!  

    Friday, April 6: COLOR EXPLOSION 

    Today is all about color! Kids will explore colorful experiments from unconventional materials, make bright paintings, and of course there will be tie dye!    


    Registrations must be made in advance and can be done online at www.preblearts.org  or in person at the Visual Art Center.  Registrations for Monday, Apr 2 must be made by Thursday, Mar 29.  PCAA will be closed Fri 3/30– Sun 3/31.  Payment must be made at time of reservations as space is limited. The PCAA is located at 601 Hillcrest Dr. in Eaton, Ohio. We are also always working on extra projects that weave art into our community.
