Art really is for everyone here at the Visual Art Center. There are classes and workshops  in a variety of mediums to capture the imagination of any dabbling, budding, emerging or practicing artist. Teens can find the Youth Drawing class under the Youth programs but teens wanting more can talk to PCAA staff about enrollment in an adult course.

    The Good Things in Life

    A Group Show Celebrating the Things That Make Us Smile

    Exhibit Dates: Jan 18– Mar 14

    Reception:  Saturday, Jan 19 11am-1pm

    The Good Things in Life is an all ages group show that celebrates the things that make us happy.  This winter show is all about  finding the light.  PCAA is calling artists of all ages to submit work inspired by what makes you happy.  

    Each artist is invited to submit 1-2 works following the theme, “The Good Things in Life” which will be included in the show.

    There is no entry fee, however artists must be members to participate.  A membership can be purchased for as low as $25 for 1 year.

    Drop off: Fri, Jan 11 1pm-6pm, Sat, Jan 12 10am-2pm

    Pick Up: Fri, March 15 1om-6pm, Sat March 16 10am-2pm

    Intro to Knitting Workshop

    Bring a sack lunch for the afternoon break and knit the day away. Students will learn the basic knitting techniques from start to finish, how to read basic patterns, see types of yarn fibers, blocking and finishing.  This workshop is great for both beginners and people wanting to refresh their knitting skills. Ages 8 and Up   It is the perfect intro to our new knitting club where you can continue to practice techniques in monthly meetings.

    Youth for Creative Community

    This is a weekly young artists meet up where kids k-12 will come together and collaborate to create a variety of public art projects.  This is a great opportunity for young people to learn new artistic skills, share ideas, get creative, and engage with other artistic peers.  This series operates on a drop-in basis, when kids are free, come in, if they have a scheduling conflict one week, no biggie, just come the next time.  The best part is...its free! You just need to be a member which can be purchased for as little as $25 annually.  Please see staff if cost is a barrier.

    This class is an opportunity for ceramicists to take their skills to the next level.  The instructor will build on student's existing skills and explore new techniques designed to improve ceramics capabilities. Participants must be able to center and create works on the wheel.
