601 Hillcrest Dr. Eaton OH. was sold to Somerville Bank though a smooth transaction, thanks to our Executive Director, Claudia Edwards, and the assistance of board members. We are happy to report that with we have used the funds from this sale to pay off the mortgage off at our current location on 207 E. Main St. Eaton, OH. and we are now DEBT FREE!!! We have also invested in the purchase and design of a brand-new computer lab and will be launching a graphic design lab. These are all efforts to fulfill our mission of fueling our community through arts and making art classes accessible for all. |
What did Preble Arts do with the sale of Hillcrest Property?
History and Background of Property Through a carefully considered decision-making process, the board of the PCAA voted in August 2018 to purchase and rehabilitate the 207 East Main Street (Eaton) building to become the new home of the Art Association. This decision was made for two critical reasons: More space for programming was desperately needed AND a location in a more trafficked area would increase visibility, program participation, and community engagement in the arts. Sustainability and Future of Preble ArtsOPPORTUNITY
PCAA and its donors have made a huge investment in the county with our building rehabilitation in downtown Eaton and providing a cultural resource for citizens and visitors from close and afar. Our intention to use funds from the Hillcrest property sale on the E. Main St. property for sustainability of the arts in Preble County.
