EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Board of Trustees of the Preble County Art Association (PCAA) seeks a collaborative, strategic, roll-up-your-sleeves leader, arts champion, influencer, and relationship builder, to serve as the next Executive Director of the PCAA. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled leader and proven manager to lead PCAA at a critical point in building its future.

The next Executive Director will have the opportunity to add to PCAA’s vision and build a robust suite of programs for Preble Arts and community outreach that include visual, performing, and creative arts while creating and implementing a funding plan to sustain the programs. The board seeks an Executive Director who will engage fully with the community, is sensitive to local culture and can bring new ideas to the table. The Executive Director will need to be flexible, collaborative, energetic, a visionary, have strong management skills and financially responsible. The primary responsibilities focus on fundraising & development, leadership, staff & facility management, financial management, program development and Board Governance. The Executive Director is responsible for the success and sustainability of the organization and its assets. The new leader must demonstrate a firm commitment to and passion for the PCAA’s mission and the community that we serve.     About the Spotlight Gallery

    The Spotlight Gallery at Preble Arts is a place for local artists to have an opportunity to exhibit their work, gaining exposure in Preble County. The Spotlight Gallery, located on the first floor of Preble Arts, has prominent exposure as it is traversed heavily to gain access to classrooms. The Spotlight Gallery is appropriate for 2-D works only. Receptions for exhibits are coupled with Arts Night Out or other Preble Art events. The PCAA does include artist information on appropriate marketing material and does include show information on the Preble Arts website and Facebook pages.

    How to be Featured in the Spotlight Gallery

    Local artists (30 miles of Preble County), can submit a proposal of consideration. If chose, artist must supply 3-5 works for installation and have them available for the agreed upon duration of the exhibit. A proposal template is provided.


    Rules and Guidelines

    Process

    Submit a proposal as outlined in the proposal template. Incomplete proposals will be rejected. A committee will review all proposals within 30 days of submission. Submission does not guarantee an exhibit opportunity. An email will be sent within 45 days of your submission reading the status of your request.

     

    Preparation

    All works must be framed with a hanging wire. Works must be presentable, completely finished and ready to exhibit. This requires work to be framed, or have painted edges of canvas, appropriate mounting or other means applicable to the artwork. If you are unsure regarding your specific piece- please ask!  Work must fit through a standard size door. The PCAA staff has the right to reject any work not properly prepared for display. Work must be available for the entire exhibit.

     

    Insurance

    Preble County Art Association is not responsible for any damages done to work due to craftsmanship or artist’s negligence. Framing must be secure. Works not for sale must have an insurance value. All claims must be backed by proof of sale. There is no disaster insurance provided.

     

    Compensation

    Works may be listed for sale. A 30% commission will be taken from each sale.

    About the Gallery 

    The Gallery at Preble Arts is a place for artists to have an opportunity to exhibit their work, gaining exposure in Preble County. The Gallery, located on the first floor of Preble Arts, has prominent exposure to passerby's from the large storefront windows that face US 35. All mediums are entertained for exhibits. Most receptions for exhibits are coupled with Arts Night Out or other Preble Art events. The PCAA creates graphics to include artist information on class brochures or postcards and other appropriate marketing materials. Show information is also included on the Preble Arts website and Facebook pages.  

    How to be Featured in the Gallery  

    Artists can submit a proposal of consideration. If chose, artist must supply 15-30 works (depending on size) for installation and have them available for the agreed upon duration of the exhibit. A proposal template is provided.
